Macau's historic centre records one of the earliest and longest encounters between China and the West, while casino development has replaced some old structures with retained or simulated façades. Debris, Vhils's first solo exhibition in Macau, ran from 1 June to 5 November 2017 and extended into four public works. Built from local posters, doors and street footage, the project draws residents and the territory's mixed urban identity out of the materials that hold them.
