Completed in October 2016 at Tower 3 of The Hub North, 888 Shenchang Road, Minhang District — part of Shanghai's Hongqiao business zone — this permanent public work marked Vhils' engagement with a transit-oriented urban development. Conceived for a complex that integrates transport infrastructure, workplaces and public space, the intervention sets a face against an environment built for constant movement and exchange. The work is no decorative addition to a new commercial development: it introduces a sense of permanence into a place defined by mobility, setting traces of lived experience inside its contemporary architecture. It was installed as Hongqiao was being built up as an international transport gateway.
