Realm was exhibited at Magda Danysz Gallery in Shanghai in 2019. Vhils carved a series of freestanding portrait monoliths from raw plaster and brick, each incised with the face of an anonymous subject and framed by exposed metal edges, populating the gallery's industrial white-cube space. The work extends the artist's archaeological method into sculptural territory, treating the wall fragment as both portrait and architectural relic.
