Vhils carved this portrait in July 2012 into the façade of the former EPA department store at Rue d'Italie 56-58, Vevey, for that year's edition of Festival Images. The biennial turns the town into an open-air photography exhibition; his piece treated the wall's own material — plaster, paint, accumulated layers — as the photographic surface, exposed through removal instead of printed.
