CERN Mural

Building 866 at CERN's Prévessin site in France, near Geneva, carries a mural made shortly after the laboratory's 70th anniversary in 2024. It depicts technicians who build, maintain and continuously adapt the Large Hadron Collider, the world's largest particle accelerator. Carved directly into the wall, the work mirrors the investigative logic of the laboratory itself: both excavation and particle physics seek to reveal what lies beneath the visible surface, one through physical subtraction, the other through the search for structures hidden within matter.
