DistritoTec launched its Public Art Program in 2016 to humanise the streets around Tecnológico de Monterrey and build community interest in public space. Vhils's wall, created within Distrito Tec as part of the All City Canvas Creative Network, was the programme's ninth intervention. It depicts a symbolic, unnamed female figure, placing questions of inclusion and equal access at the centre of a project concerned with education, leadership and urban renewal. Carved at the entrance to the campus residences, the figure takes on the scale of an official icon within a district around Tecnológico de Monterrey that is undergoing substantial transformation.
