All City Canvas Global Series

This mural occupies the former Textiles de Sonora factory, now transformed into Parque La Ruina, and was made in 2019 for the All City Canvas Global Series. Vhils drew inspiration from the men and women who once worked there, recovering fragments of the building's industrial past through portraiture. The portraits set that industrial past against the factory's transformation into a park, questioning what is lost — and what can still be recovered — as urban landscapes are continually transformed.
