Vhils returned to Niort in November 2024, more than a decade after his first intervention there, to carve a wall at Port Boinot — a former industrial site now part of the city's renewed public landscape — on a gable overlooking the Sèvre Niortaise. Executed for Le 4ème Mur, the urban-art programme run by Winterlong Galerie with the City of Niort, and inaugurated on 14 November 2024, the portrait interweaves with botanical forms evoking the surrounding landscape and the waterways of the Marais Poitevin, marking the generations of women whose labour shaped Niort's chamoiserie and glove industry. It occupies the same wall as the artist's 2012 mural for the programme, since lost, renewing a dialogue the city's industrial memory keeps with its wetlands.
