MUCA – Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art

At MUCA Munich, in 2019, Vhils cut a portrait into a raw concrete wall using chiselled negative space and layered geometric fragments; patterned shards of plaster and pigment frame the face, dissolving its contours into the surrounding architecture. The piece applies his signature subtractive technique to an interior gallery wall, not the street façades that are his usual surface.
