In 2017, on the façade of a residential building at 6969 Avenue De Chateaubriand, in Montréal's Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough, Vhils carved a large-scale, anonymous portrait for the city's Programme d'art mural, working with Artgang Montréal. The portrait emerges from layers already on the wall, keeping the focus on the ordinary residents who shape the neighbourhood's identity. The work is part of a municipal programme dedicated to public art across Montréal.
