Made around 2010 for the Galeria Urban Forms programme in Łódź, this mural belongs to a collection of permanent public artworks. Vhils carved the portrait directly from the façade in a city shaped by its industrial past, letting the wall's own material surface double as the image. The city continues to shift from manufacturing centre to contemporary cultural city, the context in which the mural was made.
