Created during Nuart Festival 2012 in Stavanger, Norway, the work emerges from a large exterior brick wall through chiselled and carved removal of plaster and surface render. The portrait surfaces as exposed brickwork and shadow, scaled to dominate the gable end and read clearly from street level. The subtractive technique converts architectural decay into a monumental human likeness rooted in the city's fabric.
