For Making the Invisible Visible, Vhils carved a monumental portrait onto a building at Novodmitrovskaya Ulitsa, 1 строение 2, in Moscow — one of six cities in Hennessy's 2018 campaign, alongside London, Johannesburg, Ho Chi Minh City, Chicago and New York. Each portrait depicted a musician, DJ or other cultural figure whose influence extends beyond mainstream visibility, framed as a catalyst within their local scene. The campaign echoed Vhils' own subtractive process: revealing what is already present but overlooked, extending his long-standing focus on neighbourhood memory into contemporary cultural production.
