Commissioned for the façade of Urban Outfitters on Exeter High Street, this portrait depicts local resident Hollie-Jay Storer, selected following an open call for members of the community to submit photographs. Carved directly into the rendered wall, the work places an ordinary local face at the centre of one of the city’s busiest commercial streets, creating a lasting connection between the building and the people who move through it.
