In 2023, at Artsy Cascais, Vhils’ intervention forms the façade of the hotel’s contemporary wing, placed in dialogue with the neighbouring nineteenth-century building. Conceived as an architectural skin, the carved concrete panels filter light into the rooms while altering the building throughout the day. The work becomes part of how the architecture is seen and inhabited, creating a porous boundary between interior and exterior, heritage and contemporary construction.
