Intrínseco — Walls work, 2018, Lisbon, Portugal

Intrínseco ran at Galeria Vera Cortês, Lisbon, from 2 February to 17 March 2018, accompanied by an essay by Miguel Moore (January 2018) framed around Zygmunt Bauman's Liquid Modernity. The exhibition was an installation of transparent sheets suspended from the ceiling — piezoelectric inkjet prints and stencilled spray paint on crystal film, each layer 285 × 138 cm — printed with faces, graphic and geometric patterns, urban landscapes and signage elements gathered from places where the artist has worked. Because the layers are transparent, the compositions aggregate and recombine with the viewer's position, a materialisation of the 'constitutive layers' concept that runs through Farto's work.
