Interval (French title: L'interstice) was a solo exhibition by Alexandre Farto (Vhils) at the Danysz Gallery, 78 rue Amelot, Paris, on view from 22 May to 20 June 2026. Developed through anthropologist Marc Augé's theory of "non-places," the exhibition approached Paris as a city experienced through movement, with the subway and trains as spaces of transit. Some twenty-six works spread across the gallery's three floors were made primarily from materials sourced in the French capital, including torn advertising posters, metal political-campaign display structures, subway doors and the city's characteristic ceramic tiles, alongside a painted Lisbon metro carriage body. The presentation surveyed the artist's removal-based techniques, from accumulated and torn posters to carved portraits revealed within the urban crowd.
