Building 3 Steps — Part I

First chapter of Building 3 Steps, a joint project by Alexandre Farto and Miguel Maurício — every work in the gallery dossier is credited to both — presented by Vera Cortês, Art Agency at Galeria Promontório Arquitectos (Rua Fábrica de Material de Guerra 10, 1959-128 Lisboa, Poço do Bispo), on view 15 September – 13 October 2006. A blue-lit interior of low plinths and tiled panels carried stencilled portraits and barcode-like skyline motifs, extended outside by an early eroded-surface portrait on the surrounding factory walls. The project continued in two further parts, Part 3 running 15 December 2006 – 2 March 2007 in the same space, and was reinstalled at MACE – Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas in 2007.
