Annihilation

Annihilation marks Vhils's first solo presentation in Los Angeles, staged at Over the Influence Gallery in 2018. The exhibition foregrounds large-scale poster-layered portraits built through the artist's signature subtractive technique, where torn advertising fragments and geometric patterns are excavated to reveal monumental human faces. The works extend his ongoing inquiry into urban accumulation, identity, and the residue of mass visual culture.
