A profile portrait emerges through dense stippled chiselling into the surface of a salvaged panelled door, the lighter sapwood revealed beneath aged stain. Insculpt Series #04 (2012) was hand-carved directly into this 250 × 115 cm domestic threshold for the Devoid solo exhibition.
