Untitled Carved Wall (220)

The whitewashed gable end of a derelict building beside a highway, a carved portrait emerging from the cracked plaster as a red suspension bridge spans the river behind; a white van passes on the road and a 'MEEK' tag marks the lower wall. Carved on the former Sidul factory building at Avenida da Índia 28, Alcântara, Lisbon, in June 2014, in the context of Dissecção, Vhils's first solo exhibition in a Portuguese institution (Fundação EDP — Museu da Eletricidade, 4 July – 5 October 2014). The building was demolished in 2018.
