Since 2020 Vhils has ventured into the digital — NFTs at Superchief Gallery NFT New York (2022), generative pieces, and the City Slow Motion video series at the heart of the Prisma installation (MAAT Lisbon, 2022). Multitude (MIMA Brussels, 2024–25) and Graphium (Ulsan, 2025) extend the practice further, with a digital piece in Graphium created from fragments of a demolished Ulsan building.
The explosion works seeded Vhils's NFT practice. Rust Belt was his debut Nifty Gateway drop (23 June 2021), releasing the 2,000fps detonation film and Detritus fragments carved from its rubble. Destroy to Create followed on Nifty Gateway (October 2021) — two open editions and a ranked auction with a burn mechanic through which collectors could trade previous pieces for rarer ones — and Cycle of Destruction extended the series. On SuperRare, the 1/1 Debris #1 — announced by the artist in September 2021 as his first explosion video, created in 2010 at Fábrica Braço de Prata — tokenised that seminal footage; a second 1/1, Hint, extends the same explosion lineage. Following Nifty Gateway's 2026 closure, those drop pages are preserved via the Internet Archive.
