Visual Street Performance 2005

The first edition of Visual Street Performance, the Lisbon graffiti and street art collective exhibition, held in 2005 at the Interpress building in Bairro Alto. Vhils, then working in stencil and mixed media before the emergence of his carving technique, contributed installations combining stencilled trees, children's silhouettes and layered cityscape imagery across the industrial interior, alongside a five-panel mixed-media work on canvas. The photographer Martha Cooper was present documenting the show. The VSP series continued through editions in 2006, 2007 (Fábrica do Braço de Prata, where Vhils carved his first wall), 2008, 2009 and 2010.
