Masked Vigilantes on Silent Motorbikes — Paper work, 2022, New York, United States

Poster House group show Masked Vigilantes On Silent Motorbikes (August 2022 – 12 February 2023) was a group exhibition at Poster House, the first US museum dedicated to the global history of posters. Curated by RJ Rushmore (Art in Ad Places, 2017–2021), the show gathered 19 modern and contemporary artists who treat the poster not as art-as-poster but as raw material for art — found, reconfigured, shredded, and re-purposed to subvert advertising's claim on public space. Vhils' contribution was Allusion (2019): a torn-apart cartoon poster overlaid with a laser-engraved paper eye — a direct example of his deconstruction technique applied to printed media.
