Devoid

Devoid occupies Lazarides Rathbone with works that strip the portrait to its barest residue. A large polystyrene relief, carved into a luminous white face, projects from a black wall opposite a grid of six mixed-media panels layered with floral, urban, and figurative debris. The intimate gallery, with its exposed brickwork and timber floor, frames Vhils's continuing inquiry into absence as a generative act. The satellite street piece at the Old Truman Brewery no longer exists.
