Descuradas. Artworks from the Norlinda and José Lima Collection

Descuradas ran at Centro de Arte Oliva, São João da Madeira, from 1 April to 17 September 2023, curated by the artist duo Sara & André. The group exhibition presented 200 previously unexhibited works by some 50 Portuguese and international artists, drawn from the Norlinda and José Lima Collection, on deposit at the Centro de Arte Oliva since 2013 and comprising more than 1,200 works (250 Portuguese, 230 foreign artists), of which 300 to 400 had never been shown publicly. Works were grouped by formal affinity — shape, colour, typology, figuration, theme — rather than chronology, including Pop (Nuno Viegas, João Nora), landscape (Vhils, Susana Gaudêncio, Ana Marchand, Tânia Ferrão), abstract (José de Guimarães, Juan Navarro Baldeweg, Rafael Canogar), and surrealist (Cruzeiro Seixas) sections.
